The Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo. Adjacent to Izumo Taisha, one of the three main shrines in Japan, this museum catalogs the early history of Japan, up until the Meiji era. The rotating display focused on Japanese myths and legends, making this place an amazing supplement to my Japanese History and Japanese Religion classes I had just finished.
