The historical introduction and production of bronze came to Japan after the introduction of iron. However, bronze was not used to make tools or weapons, instead, these were all dull ceremonial swords. The upper set were cast as modern replicas, using molds based off of the discovered swords, as well as a metal composition almost identical to the bottom swords, in order to properly display what they would have appeared like when first created.
